Mary Langman, became the founder secretary when the Pioneer Health Centre opened and stayed to its closure. She then took over the tenancy of Oakley farm for the next 15 years.
This period laid the foundation of her formidable knowledge of organic farming, in which she was internationally recognised as an authority. She spent the last 50 years of her life assisting Dr Innes Pearse in her writing and in keeping the knowledge of the Peckham Experiment alive.
